4 Years of This!!!?

This is going to be my most petty objection to Barack Obama, but given that Presidents are expected to do these roasts where they poke fun at themselves, their opponents, and the media, are we really being condemned to four years of this type of performance. It was a charity dinner in the spirit of bi-partisanship and comity for the Al Smith Foundation, so I guess it wouldn’t have been appropriate to stand up and boo and say, “You stink.” But this was some of the lamest politician comedy I’ve heard.

And that’s not partisan. There are some Democrats who do this thing well: Bill Clinton was impeccable, Dennis Kucinich to me invoked the image of Kermit the Frog in the flesh, and Blanche Lincoln is pretty good. Compared to Obama, Al Gore did good in 2000.

This is one instance where Obama is in way over his head.
