Les Newbill, a U.S. Army veteran and Moscow Police Department Officer died on Sunday, May 20, 2007, after being shot responding to the shooting in the Latah County Courthouse / Presbyterian Church area in Moscow.

Latah County Republicans will be “passing the hat” to collect funds for Mrs. Becky Newbill at our regular meeting on Tuesday, May 22 and also at our Memorial Day Picnic on Monday, May 28, 2007 .

Hurray to the Latah County Republicans. Prayers go up for his family as well as that of the other man who died, and of course the family of the shooter.

Next Saturday’s episode of the Old Time Dragnet Show will be dedicated to Officer Newbill.
