I have to say it, at least in my heart- “I will not that this man rule over us”. Anybody willing to mandate the slaughter of our future (we call it abortion) can never be trusted to protect us or our ALREADY-Born children.
I have oft said I’m not the “guns” sort of man. But THIS sort of man MIGHT be enough to make me re-think this.
I have posted my comments on this election. Adam, if I know you the way I think I do, you’re not going to agree with many points I made… But, “This IS me.”
    Here’s the web-link. http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendID=61525413 I did 2 political posts. They’ll be easy to spot.

Our presidents have nver ruled, they’ve always served. That’s a troubling statement regardless.

  3. Comment by Jeremy Witte

What do you mean by troubling statement? Was it something I said, or that line “Are you ready to be ruled?”

  4. Comment by Adam Graham

The troubling statement was one the show centered around. His adviser said Obama was “ready to rule on day one.”

  5. Comment by Jeremy Witte

Hey! It JUST hit me! Rulers- in the HISTORICAL sense of the word, Adam, are KINGS and Monarchs. Mortal beings who typically insist on being given the status that should only be put on Christ alone. (Of course, that can’t be said of every king & monarch, but I’m talking about what most of them are known for, not the few)

And is THAT why it bothers you, Adam?

  6. Comment by Adam Graham

That very succinctly is what bothers me about an adviser to the President-elect making that statement.

  7. Comment by Jeremy Witte

Dude, then WHAT are we as people to do. Because, though I respect my dad-in-law, I have a split hatred towards him & others who speak as if “It’s worthless” & “There’s really nothing that can be done.”

Because, I have heard it said, & I even read it, if WE humble ourselves, pray, repent, & seek God’s face, THEN HE will hear & our land be healed.

Yet, instead of more calls to prayer & repentance, what do I hear? I hear of Sarah Palin (supposedly from a chrismatic church) accusing people for this problem & that problem.

I hear talk about people buying positions, bailouts, etc…

Strange, I love a “love-hate” feeling for many friends & family members because of what feels like a “lay-down & die” attitude.

Do you or Andrea identify or understand these feelings? Or am I merely a nut-case from Ohio here?

  8. Comment by Jeremy Witte

& I still wouldn’t want a Mormon running this country, either.

  9. Comment by Adam Graham

I don’t know what you’re talking about in regards to Sarah Palin.

As for a Mormon running the country, that doesn’t bother me, provided they have the right views on the issues. And if they’re wrong, I’m not any more botherd because they are a Mormon.

You may have a point on Palin. I just yahooed Sarah Palin lashes out, & have found that there is a whole range of reactions going on to what different people’ve said.

“Alaskan africans lashing out @ Palin.” “Palin lashing out at critics” McCain on telling people to stop asking about Palin’s background. The search results reveal kind of like a soap opera. Eeew! We have enough of those on dsytime T.V.

  11. Comment by Andrea

The frustration with the lay down and die stuff absolutely rings home. Hearing stuff like, “it’s just going to get worse and worse until Jesus comes back. There’s nothing left to do but to warn as many people as we can until He gets here” makes me want to scream and/or tear my hair out.

As for Mormons, if Christianity is football, it could be said what they call football, we call soccer, but true or not, as a group they’re better at playing football than a lot of folks supposed to be playing our game. Trying to play football together would be a mess, sure, but outside such “inside football,” the Mormons are some of our best allies in the culture war.

Through there are plenty of other reasons to not support Romney. Such as he strikes me as phony as the day is long.

  12. Comment by Andrea

BTW, I understand the Palins currently attend a non-denominational church. Don’t trust anything negative that you hear on the news about fellow believers, Jeremy. If they’re assassinating the character of someone who happens to be religious, you can bet the person is our faithful sister/brother in the Lord and guilty of doing nothing more than what the Lord has called her/him to do. The media hates us. Don’t believe me? Garner national attention for defending the faith on some front. You’ll find out what a horrible person you are, too. Ditto for your Christian loved ones.

Andrea, relax please! I’m just disappointed in politicians in general.

I still stand behind what I wrtoe in my blog. Bottom line: We need repentence, as outlined in 2nd Chronicles, I think it’s 7:14. We, as Christians, MUST repent of our sins, & seek God’s face. & from there, see how God would have us join forces to be “salt & light”, what you may call “The Elijah Generation”.

I ain’t ready to believe that everybody in the media hates us. Just because it’s wide-spread, doesn’t necessarily mean ALL of them do.

If you recall, Kerry Livgren was part of secular pop-culture. God got through to him, & as a result, Kerry does Christian music, & when he DOES secular music, it’s informed by his Christian beliefs, & he’s an active member of his church.
See? Not everybody in pop culture, or the media, is anti-Christian. Now when the RAPTURE occurs? Ah! THEN we could say “The media hates Christians- Period”
As to this Palin attack campaign of theirs, as I told a democratic friend of mine regarding Obama, “No matter who you pick, you’re going to be let down. Man can not be God.” (Quite the statement from a disillusioned christian, isn’t it? I still know my place in HIS-story! He’s God, I’m not)
