Beating the Bubblehead Mid Week Open Trackbacks
Posted by Adam Graham in : Open TrackbacksIn his open e-mail to the Bill Sali Campaign, Bubblehead used the following to ask for answers on his list of questions, “My website, The Stupid Shall Be Punished, gets about 500 visits per day — making it, as near as I can tell, the 2nd most-visited blog in the Treasure Valley (behind only Clayton Cramer; notably, I get 2 to 3 times the daily visits of your main defender in the Idaho blogosphere, Adam Graham).”
Of course, Bubblehead writes primarily about submarines and warns his regular milblog readers when he’s about to take time out to talk about Idaho politics, while my posts tend to focus on Idaho politics. What do I need to do differently?
“This is Adam Graham. The sea is teaming with life, as we travel under the sea.”
Okay, that’s not me; I can’t even swim.
Or maybe a musical:
“Under the sea, under the sea. Life is better, down where it’s wetter. Under the sea!”
Okay, I can’t sing either.
However, the attack on one’s blog audience has to be answered with more people reading the blog. So, I would suggest you make reading Adam’s a daily (nay, an hourly experience.) Post comments, and you can help back today by Trackbacking to this open post and gain exposure on a blog that #459 in the TTLB ecosystem. (compared to Bubblehead’s ranking of #3070.) Take that, Bubblehead.
Yes, let the petty rivalry begin.

I’m assuming you’re being facetious with your “complaints” about my “attack” on you, but if you were being serious, here’s my response — Dude, your hits went down on Tuesday from Monday, and mine were up for no apparent reason. Pretty soon, I’ll have to change the “2-3x” to “3-4x”. Anyway, let’s have a contest. Each of us can pick one blog that has a visible Sitemeter and fairly low daily hits, and we’ll use whatever blog resources we have to link to it; we’ll see which linker generates more additional traffic to that blog. One rule — you can’t say in your post(s) anything to the effect of “help me win a contest by clicking on this link”.

Well, Joel, no I’m not entirely serious, 99% facetious. The reason my total number of hits dropped so much is that my blog was down for about 18 hours and were still recovering. That and I’m posting a lot about Idaho Politics, which doesn’t get the hits as much as national stuff. You’re still writing about subs, so you’re attracting your main audience.
