Brandi Fights For Human Rights in China
Posted by Adam Graham in : ChristianityBrandi Swindell has a press release out:
Dr. Wang is facing six months in jail for protesting at a White House news conference with President Bush and Chinese President Hu Jintao.
Leaders to kneel in front of the White House peacefully risking arrest by praying for religious freedom and repeating the phrases Dr. Wang called out at a White House news conference with President Bush and Chinese President Hu.
Those phrases include, “President Bush stop him ( President Hu ) from killing.” And, “President Bush stop him from persecuting Falun Gong.”
The prayer vigil and demonstration will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd, at 11:00 A.M., in front of the White House. ( Lafayette Park side. )
Organizers say if Dr. Wang is convicted it will dramatically increase persecution of Falun Gong in China and send a worldwide message that the United States is not committed to protecting religious freedom.
Now first of all, its good to see some concern on this issue even though we’re not talking about Christians. Its a gutsy move and its one that’s needed. We can’t ally ourselves with the butchers of Beijing with this type of close tie. The danger of prosecuting Dr. Wang like this is that it moves us from mere economic partners, to partners in crime with the Beijing regime. So, take a moment and say a prayer for Brandi and the Christians leaders at the White House tomorrow.
