Brandi Fires Back
Posted by Adam Graham in : Idaho Conservative, TheAfter my response, the Swindell campaign laid out a very strong response to Dan Popkey. My big concern has been that we’ve not seen a good response. However, the Swindell campaign came out strong in this e-mail:
It’s important to know that many community leaders, business owners and citizens have been very impressed by Brandi’s knowledge on important issues facing Boise. Popkey has no idea how well informed Brandi is because he has never taken the time to discuss the issues with her. Sounds like stereotyping to us.actually it sounds more like Brandi’s position on city issues wouldn’t fit in Popkey’s pre-planned, agenda-driven piece.
Popkey mentions Brandi’s lack of understanding about roads. Brandi’s position is clear. She has stated, “I clearly understand the important role of the ACHD. As a city council person I will have a responsibility to listen to concerns from Boise residents about the growing traffic congestion within the city limits. We know with the proposed Ustick road expansion the ACHD and city council have differing views. As councilmember I will work to build effective communication with ACHD to maintain proper traffic flow within Boise.”.
What appears to have happened on policy positions is that Popkey took a few lines from Brandi’s blog aside from anything else she’s said and took it out context which amounts to sloppy journalism on his part if that’s the case.
Finally, we have this:
It is apparent that the best Popkey could do is attempt to convince the voters that Brandi might be too pretty to serve on the city council. Please.Boiseans are much smarter than that!.
We can only hope.
