Everyone with a Che Guevera Poster on the Wall

Posted by Adam Graham in : Politics

Telling post over at the Swamp:

In Glenn Beck’s pursuit of every member of the Obama administration who ever hung a Che Guevera poster on his college dorm wall, White House Communications Director Anita Dunn has become a new target for…. Well, for criticizing FOX News.

Note that Anita Dunn made her statement for Mao last Summer, hardly in college. However, that the columnist over at the Swamp views liberals admiring communist butchers to be a normal state of affairs.

Note that no conservative I know of  had a photo of a dictator or terrorist on their wall while in college.  However, it seems a normal state of affairs for leftists activists to have spent their college days looking up fondly to Karl Marx, Guevera, Lenin, and a host of thugs.

Of course, only the most committed cling to their college heroes. When they’ve entered their 30s and certainly their 40s, the radical iconographyof their earlier days is gone. Yet, it doesn’t seem to be because they’ve realized the error of their ways, that communism is truly evil, and the benefits of our free enterprise system. There are notable exceptions such as CNBC’s Jim Cramer, but I don’t think your former college communist could articulate anything wrong with the radical position they held in college, other than the that identifying as a communist is impractical. The underlying anti-freedom ideology hasn’t changed, rather it’s been superficially covered up. The agenda of the adult radical activist is pretty much the same agenda that the radical while he was in college. The older radicals are just smarter about how they pursue it, and therefore more dangerous.
