Christmas Crosses Double Standards

John McCain has a great and very moving Christmas ad, which features a cross, and it’s certainly no bookcase: (Hat Tip: Reformed Chicks Babbling.)

Very moving, very powerful, but where’s the outrage about the cross? There isn’t as there shouldn’t be.

Perhaps, we’ve made far too much of the Christmas ad. Instead of critiquing imagnary outrages and subliminal messages, we ought to honor the candidates for making an effort to show respect for Christmas, by not tearing each other apart, but by instead sending their best wishes and sharing a little bit of who they are.

And maybe, we should actually give Mike Huckabee some credit here. Without Huck’s original ad, the airwaves might now be full of negative garbage. Instead, at least on TV, the candidates (at least some of them) are playing nice and letting folks in Iowa and New Hampshire enjoy Christmas.

So, good move Huck, and a Merry Christmas to you and yours.
