Do As They Say…Not as They Do

From The American Thinker we have an interesting article on liberal tippers:

Once, years ago, I heard a heard a lecture by a rabbi on dating. He advised that if your date treats a waiter/waitress or a busboy in a condescending and mean manner, that is the way they will treat you after a while – if you were to marry them. Today’s New York Post had an article about cheap celebrity tippers listed on the website www.bitterwaitress.com.

This guy, Jack Kemp (not the politician) went and cross checked through the site (which I’ll given fair warning found some pretty stingy tippers against liberals in Bernard Goldberg’s book and found many who eat big meals but don’t come close to paying a reasonable gratuity:

Michael Moore 3% (actually that wasn’t his worst tip in the database, that was in New York where he left a $1.27 tip on a $248.73 bill.)

Barbara Streisand: 2%

John Kerry: 2% (Kerry actually left no tip on a $262.00 meal in Alexandria, Virgina

John Edwards 2%

Al Gore: 8% (or what Liberals would call a big tipper)

(Additional Note: Ironically, the guy’s wife is named Tipper)

Sean Penn: 0%

Now the point of this excercise is that Democrats claim to represent the poor, the needy, the underprivileged, all those folks there without health insurance. Yet, when the Democrats have a chance to do what’s expected for the poor and underprivileged, so many don’t follow through. Its rank hypocrisy on the left. It shows once again, the Democrats represent the growth of government and not the poor. Its a well known fact that in many states, waitresses make less than mininum wage because of the gratuity. If they think the Democrats are looking out for them, they should try waiting on their table.

In the interest of full disclosure, I should admit that George Bush’s name shows up in the database 8 times, and Richard Cheney once. So, both parties have cheapskates, but as Kemp wrote:

Yes, President Bush and VP Cheney made the website as well. But who is claiming them as champions of the poor and oppressed victims, advocating extra government payments to make up for past suffering, etc.?
