Endorsement: Hillary Clinton on February 5th
Posted by Adam Graham in : Presidential Race 2008Any time a big election occurs, it’s incumbent on media to issue their endorsements. So as Idaho approaches its Democratic Caucus, it comes to this blog to make an endorsement.
Well, an endorsement would be absurd, some may say, and there’s a point. An arch-Conservative partisan blog that opposes almost every interest of the Democrats, speaking as to who Democrats should vote for their Caucus would be almost as absurd as the Idaho Statesman making an endorsement in a Republican Primary. However, it is tradition.
I first must protest that I’m unable to go and Caucus on Tuesday. The sad fact of the matter is that the majortiy of this state that is Republican has been locked out of having any say over who the Democratic nominee may be. How can you be a party of all the people while excluding Republicans and Independents? So, I am unable to go Caucus for the real choice of moderate Democrats.
He was a man who led the fight against the Bush tax cuts, he’s dedicated to taking on Global Warming, and has a record of fighting for campaign finance reform. While John McCain would not win the Democratic Caucus, I should be able to vote for him. However, I digress.
Limiting our choices to the announced Democrats, we have three choices.
First of all, Mike Gravel has no prayer of winning. This is too bad as he has some interesting ideas for our country including support of the Fair Tax. Unfortunately, ideas, as well as making surrealistic 10 minute campaign commercials were not viewed by Democrats in early states as sufficient to make him presidential timber.
After much consideration, it seems the best candidate for the Democratic nomination is Hillary Clinton.
Barack Obama’s supporters claim he is an intelligent leader. Non-sense, Hillary is far brighter than that. I can sum it up in one sentence: She has yet to be indicted. That type of practical intelligence trumps Barack Obama’s experience in the Ivory Towers.
Barack Obama claims he can bring America together. Again, nonsense. Most conservatives don’t trust him, some liberals say he has not paid his dues. Others say he’s too inexperienced to be President. That Hillary practically shared control of a State for 12 years and the Country for 8, shows she’s ready for the job. She’s a candidate that can bring our country together. The vast majority of the liberal blogosphere loathes here, the vast majority of the conservative blogosphere despises her. Thus what will seperate conservatives and liberals over the next four years will only be a debate of degrees of distrust and dislike, rather than a fundamental disagreement.
Also, with advanced photoshop technologies, it w various State Democratic candidates including Hillary Clinton including Larry Grant, Dave Bieter, and anyone who runs for public office. We could open this opportunity for State Senate candidates as well.
In addition, Hillary Clinton would help revive our nation’s economy. Heretofore, Barack Obama has only inspired a false e-mail campaign alleging that he’s a Muslim. Hillary Clinton in her heyday built an industry with her husband of anti-Clinton books, videos, and websites. It’s time to bring these good paying jobs back to America.
Finally, as a Republican, I understand, there’s ultimately one question that matters in Presidential politics, “Who’s turn is it?” This question is only pertinent in two instances: When kindgergarteners are waiting to go down a slide or Republicans are choosing a presidential nominee. I suggest it’s also a solution for Democrats. Forget issues, forget personalities, forget everything else, but remember this: It’s Hillary’s turn.
So, it is with much thought and consideration that this blog endorses Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Presidential Caucus on February 5th.
The above is satire. Adam Graham has endorsed no current presidential candidate.

I have to work until too late on Tuesday, otherwise I’d go to caucus for Gravel, just to hear what people would say to try to convince me to join their “teams”. I’ve spent enough time over at DU that I could play a good progressive conspiracy theorist. And since I’m voting in the Dem primary in May, I’m completely eligible to attend. (Just as long as the loyalty oath they have to sign doesn’t commit attendees to vote for a Democrat for President in November.)
