Four is Enough
Posted by Adam Graham in : Idaho Conservative, TheAs Rex Rammell and Larry LaRocco begin their debate roadshow, many Democrats are grousing about Jim Risch agreeing to only 4 debates. Is this is an unreasonable number of debates. From the Politico:
Reps. Tom Udall and Steve Pearce will meet four times to debate issues in their race for an open Senate seat, the Associated Press reported late yesterday. The two candidates will face off three times during the final two weeks of the campaign in debates broadcast on television stations around the state, with an additional appearance slated for “Meet the Press” in Washington.
Pearce, the Republican running to replace retiring Senator Pete Domenici, had been hammering Udall for months on a proposal to hold a series of debates around New Mexico. Two weeks ago, Pearce sent a letter to Udall urging him to come to an agreement over debates, the last in a series of back-and-forth volleys each candidate has fired.
Note that in New Mexico, it was the Democratic frontrunning candidate who didn’t want a thousand debates. The candidates agreed to a reasonable number: Four. The same that Jim Risch agreed to. I think the travelling debate show will grow tiresome quick.

Well, kudos to you for using the term “Democratic” when referring to a Democratic party candidate.
But, to your point, we leftys criticise Risch not so much for the number of debates, but that he insists on a forum that helps him avoid difficult questions. He’s a trial lawyer; why is he afraid to debate?
