Good News, Bad News for Ron Paul in Georgia
Posted by Adam Graham in : Presidential Race 2008Headline: “Giuliani nearly drowned out by rival’s supporters“
The Good News: Giuliani showed up in Georgia and had more Paul supporters show up than his own, thus showing how soft his support is. On the other hand, that Paul supporters could turn out in such numbers at another candidate’s rally shows the strength and fervency of Paul’s support.
The Bad News: Shouting down a candidate for President and his supporters is more than a tad rude. In other places, rudeness may not carry such a high cost. But in the South? People still have manners:
You’re being very inconsiderate,” an elderly woman, aghast at the lack of Southern manners, told three young female Paul acolytes.“You’re not helping your candidate with this,” a middle-aged man told a 20-something man toting a blue-and-white Paul campaign sign.Bottom line: You want to make a good impression for your candidate? Then don’t be a jerk in Georgia.
Bonus Money Quote:
But a Paul supporter, Craig Hatcher, a 33-year-old Navy veteran who lives in Powder Springs, said of Giuliani, “I wouldn’t necessarily say he is a liberal. I’d say he is more of a statist who wants the government to run our lives.”
Thus, he sums up not only Giuliani, but several members of the GOP field.

Perhaps the central bankers should find a piece of ground to call home and learn to live in peace on it. This is a small planet, afterall.
