Granite State Crumbling?

Posted by Adam Graham in : Presidential Race 2008

New Hampshire is one of the Blue States McCain has a shot in. The latest Rasmussen poll shows Obama up by 11 after the previous Rasmussen poll showed Obama by 6. Still not ready to move this one to “Toss-Up Status” from “Leans McCain” but I’m getting there.

One word about polls. They are fuzzy indicators at best this far out from the election. One poll or two polls means little at all. Due to the flaws in a poll or two, margins of error, one has to be careful in using them as a guide. A recent poll showing Obama up only by two rather than six as he was in the previous Rasmussen poll doesn’t show anything has happened in that state. The move on the poll is within the margin of error. The same is true with the Nevada poll showing McCain’s lead dropping from 6-to-3. Really, we have to watch for trends and also plain old intuition about the state’s direction. So neither Nevada (Leans McCain) or Colorado (Leans Obama) will be changing on my scorecard.
