Grant Blogger Calls Self, Other Idaho Liberals Classless

Posted by Adam Graham in : Idaho Conservative, The

I’ve got a few posts I’ve got to make tonight on the Sali-Grant Congressional race. Let’s begin in the comments at Idablue where Julie Fanselow of the Grant Campaign makes this extraordinary statement regarding the fact that Bill Sali wasn’t making personal attacks like Grant, who has used quotes of legislators who’ve disagreed with Sali:

And Adam, FYI, I have not heard Larry using the many fun quotes that Mr Sali’s Republican colleagues use to describe him. The quotes are out there for sure, but Larry isn’t the one quoting them. He’s too classy for that.

Let’s pause for a moment. Others are using them, but not Larry. He’s too classy, unlike all of his classless supporters in the Idaho blogosphere. Good work attacking your supporters, Julie. Indeed, I believe you’ve called yourself classless.

Indeed, the quotes are discussed on Larry Grant’s campaign blog, so he’s not too classy for that. Or to do it again. The Republicans for Grant page which at the bottom has Paid for by Grant for Congress (in White Letters on a Gray Background so you have to look for it.) has the quotes on there.

So, what Julie’s saying apparently is, “Larry Grant has class. He doesn’t personally attack Bill Sali. That’s what he pays other people for.” However, you also have the matter of a Daily Kos post that Julie linked on the Grant Blog in which the diarist in describing Larry Grant’s speech writes:

He quoted several people on their opinions of his opponent, Bill Sali. Sheila Sorenson, who lost to Sali in the primary said he was dishonest and that she would not vote for him. Another fellow Republican said that Sali was an idiot and told the press they could quote him on that. Sali’s fellow legislators considered throwing from a 3rd story window in the Capitol, but were afraid he would live (a state senator confirmed that story).

So either Larry Grant has a lot less class than Julie writes of, or this Kossack misrepresented what Mr. Grant said and Julie gave a link that basically endorsed the description without reading it. Take your pick.
