Guest Blog: Christmas Poems by William Burns

I’m pretty busy with the Christmas Carnival, so blogging is limited. Well, I’ve got a special treat for you tonight, instead. Someone had a post for the Carnival of Christmas but no blog. Well, normally that’d be the end of that, but this gentleman’s stuff was so good, it HAD to be in there, but it also HAD to be on a blog. As such, the only solution was to go ahead and have the piece posted here.

Mr. Williams Burns is a good poet and we love good poetry here at Adam’s Blog. He’s got three great Christmas poems to share, so enjoy the poetry of William Burns.

Christmas at the Beach Haiku Sequence

amber winter sky
yellow russet tan and grey
leaf-sewn path to dusk

the wild rose
winters on the banister
awaiting awakening

rain-kissed sands ripple
long after summer’s leaving
a child’s plastic spoon

unforeseen warm breeze
tiny lights dance a promise
children’s laughter
