Harts Location: A Sign for Huckabee?
Posted by Adam Graham in : Presidential Race 2008Since we’re taking the results from Dixville Notch and Harts Location serious enough to post them. Let’s do some analysis by comparing them to 2000:
Dixville Notch:
2000 GOP: Bush 12, McCain, 10, Forbes, 1
2008 GOP: McCain 4, Romney, 2, Guiliani, 1
2000 Democrat: Bradley, 4, Gore 2
2008 Democrat: Obama 7, Edwards, 2, Richardson, 1
Analysis: Dixville Notch appears to be shrinking . However, not much of a partisan shift. If anything, it appears Independent interest may be in the Democratic Race which is good news for Obama, bad news for John McCain and Ron Paul.
Harts Location:
2000 GOP: McCain, 9, Bush, 5, Dole, 2, Jeff Peters, 1
2008 GOP: McCain, 6, Huckabee, 5, Paul 4, Romney, 1
2000 Democrat: Bradley, 9, Gore, 3
2008 Democrat, Obama, 7, Edwards, 2, Richardson, 1
Analysis: Another slight drop in voters. 29 in 2000 down to 26 in 2008. Based on these results, it appears that Mike Huckabee’s attempt to reach beyond religious conservatives succeeded. Either that or people converted in the last 8 years. But, regardless, Huck found himself 2nd overall in early voting and could be headed for a strong third, based on the results of this one tiny town. After all, if the media reports, it must matter.
