Hillary Robs Idaho Dems

Julie at Red State Rebels is calling Idaho Democrats out for a huge Hillary Fundraiser with the minimum to get in at $500. Julie is right that this is a huge drain on local Democrats.

For a Senate Candidate who is almost a certain shoo in for re-election to be fundraising, really so that she can build a surplus for her Senate campaign that she can transfer over to the Presidential campaign is tacky. Now, I’ve not heard of her doing this in other states. If she is, this is not the way to win friends and influence people.

She may have made a simple conclusion that:

1) Idaho Democrats don’t have a great shot at winning.

2) Idaho Democrats really don’t matter in ’08.

If she’s made either conclusion, its a bad mark on the Democratic Party that they’re promoting the heck out of an event that’s probably going to send $100,000 or more out of state after Jerry Brady’s statement that he needed Democrats to believe they could win. Apparently, the party leadership didn’t get the memo. Regardless, its good news for the GOP and I’ll take it.
