I Pity the Foos Who Are Ungrateful
Posted by Adam Graham in : PoliticsStop the ACLU posts the story of Christian peace activists who were resecued by the US Military, however you wouldn’t know it by reading their press release which described the effort as a release, as if the terrorists let them go out of the goodness of their heart.
Its nice to “love your enemies” but the ingratitude showed to our soldiers who resecued them is beyond the pale. This reminds me of an A-Team episode (doesn’t everything, though?) where the A-Team tried to be non-violent in accordance with the requests of some pacifists who were being persecuted. Finally, the A-team was forced to get physical to save the lives of the pacifists. Afterwards, the pacifist leader yelled at Hannibal Smith. It looked petty on film and looks even more petty in real life.
Also, I think that the peace activists aren’t loving their real enemy. What becomes clear is that they don’t view the terrorists as enemies, they’re not threatened by them. They’re worldview forbids such plain thinking that people who want to kill people for Allah are a threat.
Instead, the people they loathe and hate are the United States military and it shows by their pettyness. So, in loving their real enemies, they did a pretty poor job.
