Idaho March for Life 2006 (In Pictures)

Posted by Adam Graham in : Abortion

Well, after getting a bite of lunch, we were off to the March of Life. We found a parking spot in Julia Davis Park and got out close to the bandshell to pick up the signs. They had a new one sign out here which Andrea poses with below:

We ran into some old friends from the Ten Commandments coalition and Id. Rep. Bill Sali. (More on that in another post.) There was a much larger crowd than usual due in part to the fact the weather was much nicer than in ‘04 or ‘05.

Talk about turning the table on the mainstream media. I got this picture of a cameraman from Channel 6 taking pictures of everyone else. The media is always an ever-present companion at these events. The TV cameraman has a tough job. This guy had to keep up with the march and film us from start to finish, then at the end of the march, he had to get to the top of a monument overlooking the Capitol to get a wide pan of the arriving marchers.

Anyway, after we were done mixing the march started from Julia Davis Park to the Capitol. This march is approximately 3/4 of a mile. The Boise Police went ahead and closed two lanes of Traffic on Capitol to facilate the March.

We had opposing people screaming epithets at us, showing the civility of our current political discourse. Even during the speeches at the Capitol, we had people zooming by and shouting.

The Marchers walked down the road, quite silently for the most part. Andrea struck up a conversation with a middle aged lady carrying the sign, but I was mostly silent.

Thank you so much for standing up for the unborn. So often I ask what can we do to stop the tragic mass murder of these precious gifts from God. Your info on the web was wonderful this Saturday night. Give us more ideas we need to join the swell of support for life. God Bless You all. Jim
