If Liberal Radio Can’t Make It There, How Can It Make It Here…
Posted by Adam Graham in : Idaho Conservative, TheFollowing up on the liberal complaints about Ed Schultz being removed from the airwaves in Boise last November due to poor and the lack of liberals on local radio, we get this story from the Washington Post (Hat Tip: Hot Air.)::
The area’s only progressive talk station is changing formats, dropping such syndicated liberal hosts as Ed Schultz, Stephanie Miller and Bill Press in favor of financial news, starting next week.
The move by Redskins owner Dan Snyder, who purchased the station, WWRC, and others in Washington last summer, leaves the city without a liberal radio outlet. Program Director Greg Tantum says he thought the station could work because of enthusiasm over Obama, but that ratings collapsed to a level that could not be measured after the election.
But ratings nearly doubled, he says, at Snyder’s conservative station, WTNT, which features Laura Ingraham and Bill Bennett. Tantum said he will move Schultz to WTNT to give him another shot.
Snyder hopes that somehow, surrounded by conservative radio hosts, maybe Schultz will have a shot after ratings collapsed to such a low level they couldn’t even be measured. Remember, Julie Fanselow pointing out that nearly a quarter of a million people (236,000 actually or 36% of voters) voted for Obama in Idaho and needed a choice.
In the District of Columbia, Obama won 93-7% and liberal radio fell flat on its rear. Any wonder it doesn’t play in Idaho?
