Is the Road to the White House Paved With Gravel?

Posted by Adam Graham in : Politics

Cross-posted from Where I Stand:

Daniel has some thoughts on Mike Gravel’s presidential campaign with former Senator John Durkin (D-NH) telling people not to underestimate Gravel.

Reviewing Gravel’s website I see there’s a point to it. The guy’s a liberal, who’s against the war in iraq, but he also has a positive vision for the country’s future with a radical Democracy iniatative to go along with the even more radical propose of enacting a fair tax. Now, he has plans for the revenue from a Fair Tax that includes his plan for national health care.

His website is cool, go to the bottom of his announcement and click for page 2 and you get a minature icon of the Senator himself, smiling and welcoming you to his website. My first impression is that Gravel’s thoughtful, hopeful, positive, and has a progressive plan for the country that would allow people to make a fair choice between Conservatives and liberals. He’s not bitter, hateful, or mean.

For the foregoing reasons, he’ll fail to break 5% in either Iowa or New Hampshire.
