It’s an Honor To Be Invited

I’ve just received an invitation from the RNC to cover the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis.  While, I’ve thought both conventions have become a shadow of their former selves (I think I’ve used the term infomercial a few times,) I still feel honored to be invited.

As for going, I really don’t know right now, but leaning towards not going due to the cost of both tickets and hotel stay and getting time off from work may be an issue. When I thought it was possible that Mike Huckabee might be on the ballot in Idaho and that I could go as a Huckabee delegate, I was able to get the time off, but that was three months ago, and the PTO Calendar fills up fast.

The obstacles are quite a bit and the main reason I’m considering this is because my wife thinks I should go (she usually hates being left behind, which would doubtlessly happen due to the price of airfare.) If I’ve learned one thing in nearly six years, it’s if my wife urges me to do something that she would normally find unpleasant, I should at least give it some thought.
