Living What We Believe Midweek Open Trackbacks

Posted by Adam Graham in : Open Trackbacks

I don’t as a rule, hit people up for money on this blog, but here’s a little about the golf tournament I’m competing in:

I am excited to tell you about the event I am participating in on August 5, 2006. I will be playing in the Community Harvest Golf Challenge on behalf of Stanton Healthcare Services, a project of Generation Life. Stanton is a new ministry that will be serving the Treasure Valley in Idaho. The mission of Stanton Healthcare Services is to decrease the number of teen pregnancies and STDs, and to assist women facing unplanned pregnancies with life-affirming services. The new medical clinic intends to open in fall of 2006.

Last year Stanton Healthcare Services was able to assist three women facing unplanned pregnancies. Two of the women were intending to abort their child. After listening to them, educating them about their options, offering them support and friendship they have both decided to carry their children to term! The third woman was in need of baby supplies and clothing. All of these needs were able to be met and we have not even officially opened the doors of Stanton Healthcare Services yet.

In just a few weeks, forty other golfers and I will be participating in the Community Harvest Golf Challenge. My goal is to raise over $75 per hole. By sponsoring me for $2, $3, $5, or even $10 per hole you will be contributing more than money…you will be extending hope and making a difference to women and their pre-born, and to our community.

It’s not enough to oppose abortion. It’s not enough to say you’re pro-life. We need to do something that’s life changing and this is something that can save so many lives and bring so much hope to Boise. Even if you’re not from Boise, I’d ask for your help. I’d ask for you to join me and embrace this cause.

And if saving lives doesn’t matter, think of the entertainment value. I’ve never played golf in my life. I’ve played mini-golf but I’m going to strongly compete for the worst golfer award and I promise video on the blog of it.

So, I ask if you can help e-mail me. I can either take your address or alternately, you can paypal me and I can add to my existing pledge. Please, the need is great and until I’ve got at least $75 a hole, I’m going to keep bringing it up. :)

That goes without saying. For if not for Barbaro’s potential as a stud, he would have been destroyed almost immediately after the Preakness.

From what I know of horse racing and injuries, I don’t think Barbaro will make it.
