McKinney Apologizes Like a Man

From the AP courtesy of Wizbang!  Rep. Cynthia McKinney delivered this apology on the House Floor:

Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga., expressed "sincere regret" Thursday for her altercation with a Capitol police officer, and offered an apology to the House.

"There should not have been any physical contact in this incident," McKinney said in brief remarks on the House floor. "I am sorry that this misunderstanding happened at all and I regret its escalation and I apologize."

Now this seemed familiar. It was then I realized it. The feminists are right! Women can do anything men can do.

I was remind of some not so successful attempts at soothing marital feelings, "I regret your feels got hurt and I’m sorry it happen." Now, a perceptive woman is going to ask questions like, "What did you do that you’re sorry for? The guy response that then leads up to several hours of further discussion is generally, “Doing something that made you upset.”

McKinney isn’t taking personal responsibility. "I’m sorry this event happened and I’m in hot water." Or "I’m sorry there were witnesses to testify before the Grand Jury." Not "I’m sorry I didn’t wear my pin, thus making it impossible for the Capitol Police to tell I was a member of Congress, forcing them to treat me like anyone else who skipped the security checkpoint." or "I’m sorry I hit the officer."

Most wives wouldn’t accept an apology like McKinney’s and neither should anyone else.
