My First Racism Charge of the Obama Regime
Posted by Adam Graham in : PoliticsIt all began innocently enough. I wrote a little light piece suggesting alternatives to the tired canard of, “Which Presidential Candidate would you rather have a beer with?” To come up with questions that suggested some character traits such as trustworthiness, honesty, and courage. It was a light post and most people have fun with, though some lady suggested that I wrote the question as they make Huckabee and Palin look better. To which, I must say, “Sometimes, a meme is just a meme.” I actually don’t think either Governor Palin or Governor Huckabee need puffing.
However, others took offense to these questions, which are below:
- Which candidate would you trust more to babysit young children or to look after your teenage daughter?
- Which candidate would you trust more to sell you a used car?
- Which candidate could you most easily imagine washing your car?
- Which candidate would you rather be trapped in a building with if you were surrounded by an armed gang of criminals and you each had a shotgun?
At Idaho’s most popular blog, a commenter writes:
Sorry, Adam, but this is thinly veiled racist claptrap, about what one would expect from a sore Idaho wingnut loser. You’re a mental pipsqueak Adam and this sort of increasingly common snide hatred from the right is getting old Yes, America elected a black man, no he won’t rape our daughters or wash our cars for us or lead us into a gang of his criminal homies. Your stereotypical hate mongering is race baiting the angry white men to rise up and be counted. Fortunately, because of Obama’s resounding win we know just how little angry white men count anymore.
The commenter could be joking, but I fear not. Sadly, I think this type of absurdity is going to become more common, as any perceived criticism of Obama becomes racisim. Of course, I wasn’t thinking of Obama when I wrote this, but I doubt that matters all that much to the, “It’s racism” brigade!

You can be sure that since I don’t drink, I personally wouldn’t care if a president or presidential candidate was potentially a “drinking buddy” or not. However, on the national stage, I wouldn’t care for a politician or presidential candidate to BE a drinking buddy. Because a drinking buddy can’t be trusted to run anything right, as proved by the GW administration.
If it was a matter of “trust” would you trust a presidential candidate to wash your car. Would you even ask say Clinton, McCain or Obama to wash your car? If it came to facing down armed criminals and you and your (pick one) presidential candidate each had a shot gun, I am not certain I would trust POW McCain to deal with that particular crisis.
I am not about to charge “racism” to your particular column, but I have no problem suggesting that your particular column is a bit ridiculous. Yesterday, Rick Sanchez showed us signs of pure bigotry toward President elect Obama by various Christian churches. They even used scripture to justify their hatred. So, a little challenge for you, how would you like to task such people who went beyond the pale in their fury that the voters would select a black man with a funny name for their president? Think about it.

Dude, that commenter was Bob — you can’t take anything he says seriously.

Why is it that the first accusation out of some people’s mouth is that we are racist because we did not want Barack Obama as our President? How many times do we have to point out his lack of experience and his very liberal tendencies?
