DAR ES SALAAM (Reuters) – The Anglican Communion gave the U.S. Episcopal Church a September deadline on Monday to stop blessing same sex unions, but did gave no clear indication of what action it would then take.

In some ways, it’s puzzling. I doubt the head bishop will back down, so it will be interesting to see how the Anglican Communion responds. Will they take action or prove as ineffectual as the UN was with Saddam Hussein?

Meanwhile, SaveTheGOP mentions the possibility of a merger between Anglican and Catholic Churches. This would probably be made much easier if the liberal elements of the American Church went their own way.
