Jon wrote:
How can we believe Justice Alito is Pro-Life if he votes with David Souter to save the life of a murderer?
And if it turns out that Justice Alito is opposed to the death penalty, then one has to ask, How can he call himself a Christian?

--Easy. Very easy. Adam, remind me to write a post on this. Without knowing all the facts of the case, adultery is also, according to the bible, a capital offense, and it was so in Jesus' day. In John 8, the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery to him, to test him. His answer, "Ye who are without sin, cast the first stone." The Lord showed us Mercy on the Cross, that's what he expects us to do. To be fair, the unrepentant, Romans 13 tells us it is acceptable to exercize the law against them, but it does not follow that Alito deciding mercy should be shown a murderer will mean he will think an innocent baby should not also be spared.
