Political Investing Update (Support Woody Jenkins and Chris Hackett)

Posted by Adam Graham in : Politics

On the left hand side of my blog is my slatecard which allows me (and you) to contribute to Conservative candidates for office across America.

I give plenty to Bill Sali. ($50 of the $201) more than any other candidate. However, I spread my wealth across the nation, giving small amounts in races that matter. To me, the money is not merely donations, but investments in the future of the country.

I invest in a lot of special elections where my money can make a difference and where there is a great conservative candidate. Last year I got disappointed as my candidates lost in Ohio and Virginia. This year, things are mixed so far.

In Mississippi, Charlie Ross (R) lost the Republican run-off, which is too bad, but in Louisiania, Steve Scalise (R) won the Republican Run-off and given that his district is one of the most Republican in the nation, he should sail into the US House in the May Special Election, so no more money needs sent his way.

This paycheck, here’s how I invested:

$10-Woody Jenkins (R) is a conservative legend in his own right. He led the fight for the pro-life cause in the Louisiana legislature, and also was a key figher for tax limitation and gun rights. Woody Jenkins is going to fight for border security and earmark reform. He’s just what Washington needs: real conservative leadership. This will be a tight race in a swing district with the Democrats hoping for a pick-up in the Special Election on May 3rd. Let’s not let them.

$10-Chris Hackett (R-PA) is a strong conservative who will fight wasteful spending, stand up for human life, and fight to secure our nation’s borders. He’s a great overall a conservative who is supported by the House Conservative Fund.  He has to get through a Republican Primary on April 22 in order to challenge a Freshman Democratic incumbent. Let’s put Chris Hackett over the top.

$5-Rep. Bill Sali (R-ID): I’m always proud to lend support to my home state’s fine first district Congressman. In office, Congressman Sali has shown himself to be a true friend of conservatism with a 94% anti-pork voting record as well as a solid stance on the issue of life, marriage, and family. Bill Sali is the type of Congressman my state and the country needs to keep. He’s been targeted by the Democrats as one of 40 seats they’d like to pick up. Let’s deny them that opportunity.

$5-Maricopa County Treasurer Dave Schweikert is a strong fiscal conservative and a pro-life Republican challenging a Democratic incumbent in Arizona. Arizona’s primary’s not until September 2nd, but he needs money to keep the campaign going in the meantime. Lets help him get this seat back in conservative hands.

Though, none of these candidates is getting a whole lot from me, it all adds up.
