Today is: Electronic Greetings Day. Let me say hello, electronically.

On this Day in 1780: In Connecticut, Lemuel Haynes, 27, was licensed to preach in the Congregational Church, becoming the first black minister to be certified by a predominantly white denomination. Five years later, in 1785, Haynes was ordained pastor of a church in Torrington, CT, also making him the first black minister to pastor a white church. (source: Today in Christian History.)

Proverb of the Day: A silent mouth is melodious.-Irish Proverb

Scripture of the Day: When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.-Psalms 27:10

Random Fact: In the year 2000, Pope John Paul II was named an “Honorary Harlem Globetrotter”!
