Here’s some random thoughts:

Here’s Lookin’ At You: I finally got to see the Maltese Falcon with Humphrey Bogart. I’m a nostalgia guy and a 1941 film was right up my alley. It was an incredible film, scarred only by the amoral nature of Bogart’s character.

Still, Bogart’s performance was stunning.  Sam Spade was a tough character to do with a lot of versatility and volatility. Bogart’s pulls it off flawlessly. And for the pure ability to play a part and take it to a whole new level. I don’t think any actor, modern or otherwise can hold a candle to Bogie.

Laugh A Little: Over at Newsbusters,  Noel Sheppard gets all into a tizzie because of the President’s comedy routine on Friday Night. With all due respect, I’ve got to say, Lighten up. Not everything is worth shouting, “Fire!” over and Obama’s speech on Friday Night was okay. It was comedy.

Heck of a job, Bieter: The Boise Metro area is performing at the bottom 40 in the United States during this recession. Is Boise ready for some common sense in government for a change?
