Registered Ignorant

Posted by Adam Graham in : Idaho Conservative, The

From Walt Minnick’s blog, they’re touting this letter from Steve:

I am sure you get thousands of emails. I do hope you have a chance to read mine. I watched the debate last night and was very impressed by your performance there.

First, let me give you a little background. I am a registered Republican and generally vote in that direction, although, I feel like I am becoming more and more of an Independent …

Let me go ahead and break the news gently here. You are not Registered Republican, because there is no party registeration in our state. This is a huge pet peeve of mind. There are no registered anything in our state.

People fill out the card, they sign the card. They get a Registeration Card back in the mail. Nowhere does it mention anything about any party.

I’m about to start calling myself a Registered Democrat, because one it will lend instant credibility to everything I say, “I’m a registered Democrat, but abortion ought to be illegal except to save the life of the mother.” In addition, it’s just as true as everyone going around saying they’re registered Republicans. The letter writer goes on to say:

I am convinced that my voting for you is the right choice, please don’t let me down. I would like to vote for Ron Paul for the Presidential election as I think he has a lot of qualities that I see in you …

First of all, Steve, Walt Minnick will let you down if you’re expecting Ron Paul. Even publishing this letter on the website sends a confusing message.

It kind of looks like Minnick is trying to peal away Ron Paul supporters from Sali. However, isn’t Minnick’s message that he’s going to be effective and get things done? Ron Paul is known as Dr. No. He ends up lopsided votes of 430-2 votes frequently. In fact, Ron Paul is the opposite of, “Let’s get things done to say we’re getting things done.”

Once again we see the Minnick campaign trying to have it both ways.
