Self-Fulling Prophecies

Regarding, Sharon Ullman’s run for Governor, Tom at Fort Boise says that me suggesting on this blog that Ullman would be a strong candidate for governor and her being encouraged by that piece to run makes that a “self-fulfilling prophecy.”

This implies that I somehow acted to make her a candidate.  I’ve had no conversations with Commissioner Ullman since election Day that I can recall (I didn’t even dispute my property tax assessment.)  That she read the piece and found some of the analysis compelling is flattering, but my role in this whole thing is really quite passive. I’ve not even made an endorsement in the race, and we don’t even know who all will be running.
