Send Me to the Convention: A 2nd and Final Bleg

The fundraising efforts are going lackluster in our efforts to go to cover the Republican National Convention in St. Paul. I’ve been invited to offer coverage from St. Paul by the RNC, but without raising $1,000, there’s no way I can go.

This is the first time I’ve asked money for myself on this blog. I’ve considered several pitches such as: 1) Send money or the terrorists have won, 2) The future of our country depends on it, 3) This is the most pivotal political convention in the history of political conventions.

However, I decided not only are these slogans dishonest, I found out that variations of these are all being used in fundraising letters this year. So, I’ll be straight with you. If you have the money and would like my coverage from the floor of the convention, I need to hear from you in the next week in order to get my reservations done.

If you’re not enthused about the Convention, the Candidate, just don’t have the money to spare (if I did, I wouldn’t be doing this bleg), that’s fine, and I understand.  But if we don’t have the money next week, we just won’t be going.
