Shooting the President, Ain’t It a Hoot?
Posted by Adam Graham in : Idaho Conservative, TheFrom 43rd State Blues we have this attempt at humor which begins with:
While walking down the street one day, George “Dubya” Bush is shot and killed by a disgruntled NRA member.
Now, at this point, we can stop reading. The joke is a rehash of one of those St. Peter at the pearly gates stories. The President of the United States being killed is not a joke. We’ve had four Presidents assassinated, we rightly take talk of shooting our leaders pretty darn serious, as we should.
Its not even necessary for the joke. Doesn’t require the President to be shot and killed, could just begin with, “President Bush died and met St. Peter at the Pearly Gates.” Well, they’ll say, we said an NRA member did the deed, and liberals aren’t part of the NRA. The problem here is that this didn’t come from an NRA board.
Even if the liberals have a right wing bogeyman do the dirty deed, the idea of shooting the President came from the Heart of our liberal friends and that they have that idea in their heart shows why they shouldn’t be running this country.
UPDATE
Diana Rowes changed the beginning to:
George “Dubya” Bush passed away in peacefully in his sleep. His soul arrives in heaven, and he is met by St. Peter at the Pearly Gates.
She also included her own little update note at the bottom:
This entry originally had a different beginning. However, certain people became offended on how it started and were unable to hold their concentration until the end…
I guess I would be “certain” people and actually Diana, I had no problem holding my concentration until the end. It just wasn’t funny. It was a cheap political shot and that’s all.
where American citizens SHOULD be offended. I wish I could tell them “it’s just a JOKE, get over it” but unfortunately, I can’t bring myself to call this a “joke”. Very little about this administration is amusing and way too much about this administration is truly offensive. But it’s easier for those who continue to blindly follow Bush et al to express indignation for two sentences than it is for them to break out of their comfort zones and consider the BIG picture…]
Lets see, the BIG Picture would be that:
1) Secularist Democrats are tearing down our culture from within.
2) Democrats are soft on Terrorism and lack the determination to realize we’re in a war with Radical Islam.
3) Democrats support abortion on demand.
4) Democrats support a public education system that is producing a substandard education for our country’s children.
Yes, Diana, I see the big picture and that’s why some silly rehashed joke doesn’t make me mad at Bush, but that it begins with an assassination shows what’s in the hearts of American liberals, particularly when the removal is followed up by a non-apology.
