So That’s What a Trackback Is Open Trackback Party

Posted by Adam Graham in : Open Trackbacks

I got an e-mail last night which in light of me hosting Open Trackback Parties Twice a week for the last six months was somewhat amusing. Here’s how it starts:

Ok, this one is really amazing.

When I heard about it I was skeptical at best.

After I tried it out though, I was amazed at it’s results.

It’s called a trackback.

Wow, its amazing. The e-mail provides a link to a nice document on Trackbacks and then explain that using Trackbacks effectively may double your traffic. Why does this work:

Because bloggers are arrogant!

I’d like to welcome all of you arrogant bloggers to this Tuesday-Wednesday Open Trackback extravaganza. Here’s the rules:

1) Post about anything that’s in good taste. No porn, no spam, no profanity.

2) Send me a trackback of any tasteful post you want and as soon as I check my blog, I’ll update this post with your link provided you link back to this thread. If your software won’t allow you to send trackbacks, just use the Wizbang Standalone Pinger

3) Deadline is Wednesday at 11:00 PM MDT. Further trackbacks won’t be posted after that time.

Trackbacks aren’t as tasty as flapjacks, though…

Beware! Radical Writ goes back online March 1st. Wow, Movable Type is SOOO much more fun and efficient than Blogger.

Duly noted, Yak. I’m excited. Then you can try and catch me on the Alexa Rankings. I’m in the top half million websites in the world which is pretty exciting.
