Speaker Denny Calls Out the Press

Members of the press apparently weren’t participating in the pledge of allegiance. Denny’s request: Either participate or wait until after the pledge is over to come onto the floor. It’s a perfectly reasonable remark.
It’s not a matter of a power trip as some have alleged. It’s a matter of simply requesting common courtesy and respect for the House. Denny didn’t even make a deal of it. Common courtesy and respect shouldn’t beneath the legislature’s press corp.
