The Author’s Wait

Posted by Adam Graham in : Idaho Conservative, The

The Statesman had an interesting profile of Ryan Blackletter, an Idaho based author who’s trying to get his book published. Its of local interest because the book’s about Lewiston, Idaho. Anyway, this one part stood out to me:

You’ve been working on this book for about 11 years. How do you keep on keepin’ on? How do you keep from giving up?

“It’s been a long road. It took me five years to learn how to write and five years to actually write the book — I prefer thinking about it that way. It’s less painful.

“You have to hold on to the smaller successes you get. A lot of people struggle to much so get published.”

Wow,makes me feel not so bad about the book I’ve been working on for 3.
