Any one or two states could toss the election. There could be a lot more factors going into those discrepancies than the race issue though. I would say the core question will come down to Hillary supporters, and they, in reasonable numbers switch to Mccain. My impression was that much of Hillary's support came from the older voters. The older voters may not mind McCain that much, he isn't terribly conservative, and he is one of them, somebody they have been comfortable with. I hear grumblings of liberal kids who have life long democrat parents who won't be voting for Obama.. Whether that is antedoctal or more widespread remains to be seen.
