The Concert of Prayer
Posted by Adam Graham in : ChristianityListened to “In the Studio” with Michael Card and they had a guest on who talked about “Concerts of Prayer” and they actually did a Concert of Prayer on the show where they began by praising the Lord, repenting of sin, and then bringing petitions to the Lord as a group.
It was something that was awesome to behold. From what they said it goes back to Jonathan Edwards and was a huge contributor in both Great Awakenings. I wish there was a Concert of Prayer around here.
I won’t make it to the day of prayer at the Capitol. I’m somewhat surprised to hear that Mayor Bieter will be there, along with former Governor Phil Batt. Reading some of Batt’s biography as well as editorial since he leaving office, he doesn’t seem to take a favorable towards religion, but I could be wrong.
The Mayor and the former Governor being there don’t have anything to do with why I’m not going to be there this year. We should welcome anyone who wants to pray and I hope Mayor Bieter is touched and changed by the prayers of the people. With the move and all, I’ve used a lot of PTO already and I’ll probably need at least 3 days to get this done.. So, I’ll look forward to next year and maybe we’ll see about finding an official concert.
