The Problem with House Polls
Posted by Adam Graham in : PoliticsSean at My Election Analysis explains why he doesn’t put much faith in US House polls:
It is just difficult in a heavily-gerrymandered state to get a good, clean sample, or to “color between the lines” as they say. Part of the problem this cycle is that a lot of the “good” companies have polled in state races — for the first time ever. As Indy Voter has pointed out here, it usually takes a couple of tries to get a feel for the district and for the electorate. Maybe house polling will get better next time around, but the inherent difficulties make it seem unlikely.
