Bill -

Do you ask these questions of the authors after reading 1984, Brave New World, or Children of Men? Do you ask them of screenwriters after watching Equilibrium, Soylent Green, or V for Vendetta? Probably not. So why is this any different?

It seems the purpose of the book (though I haven't read it) is not to scare, but to provoke thinking, just as the others I mentioned. I think it's time for a conservative perspective on what could happen to our country in the future.

My first, quick response is that this is a fiction book, not a non-fiction "how to" manual -- so no, I didn't give a 10-step outline in the back of the book on how to prevent the scenario I created. However, the first step in any good 10-step program is becoming aware there is a problem. If people get to that step after closing the pages of my book I'll be happy. If they start to pay more attention, take ten minutes more than they used to when considering whether to vote or who to vote for, that'd be fabulous. It's not a fear-filled scenario, nor is the point simply to be afraid. The point is to be entertained and have your mind stimulated to think about things you might not have thought of before.

You’ve succeeded in creating a fear filled scenario meant to scare people into action.
When your government is headed by elitists and liberal leaning lost souls, what can you do when there’s no one to vote for in a democratic society?
What actions are you suggesting people take to help prevent this?
We have our head out of the sand, now what?
Have you given it any thought, or is the point to simply be afraid?

Thanks for the thoughtful review Adam. You pegged my hopes for this book pretty squarely -- that it would be thought-provoking and cause Christians to take their head out of the sand regarding where current trends might lead.
