The Priest of the Abortion God

Posted by Adam Graham in : Abortion

The LA Times has an article that makes my blood boil. Its about an abortionist, William F. Harrison(the man is not worthy to be called a doctor) who has done more 20,000 abortion and had 6,000 live births. He stopped doing Obstetrics in 1991, apparently parents preferred having doctors whose hands weren’t covered in blood delivering their children. That’s quite common. Abortionists often find themselves limited to abortion.

Anyway, lets get into the meat of the article:

He calls himself an “abortionist” and says, “I am destroying life.”

But he also feels he’s giving life: He calls his patients “born again.”

“When you end what the woman considers a disastrous pregnancy, she has literally been given her life back,” he says.

This guy’s giving me the creeps. A self-confessed killer with blasphemy to boot. He’s saying salvation for these women is killing their children. How perverse! What happens when these “born again” women get their lives back? Let’s read

Kim, 35,[is] in for her second abortion in two years.

The last patient of the day, a 32-year-old college student named Stephanie, has had four abortions in the last 12 years. She keeps forgetting to take her birth control pills. Abortion “is a bummer,” she says, “but no big stress.”

Wow, it looks like these women ended up in the same stupid mess again. Here’s a fact–48% of abortions in America are repeat abortions. So nearly half of abortions aren’t even women making an “innocent mistake”. They’re people just callously doing it. It’s a “bummer” destroying the life of a child because you’re too lazy to take your pills and too selfish to get sterilized. If you don’t want children, ask the doctor to sterilize you, don’t sit there and keep killing child after child.

There’s more on this at Life Issues regarding a 1987 study when the rate of repeat abortions was lower:

Based upon these figures and also extrapolating the fourth abortion or more category to more precise figures based upon state health department reports of repeat abortions, it is estimated that there were about 643,500 repeat abortions in the U.S. in 1987 out of a total of 1.5 million abortions. Of these 403,500 women had a second abortion; 160,500 had a third abortion; 53,250 had a fourth abortion; 17,500 had a fifth abortion; 4400 had a sixth abortion and 4400 had a seventh or higher abortion.

Let those numbers sink in. Abortion is not solving a problem, it’s delaying it. How many children have to die because of one women’s irresponsibility? How many times can someone be born again in Dr. Harrison’s death cult?

The Times Article goes on:

By law, Harrison’s staff must offer patients two pamphlets from the state. One lists adoption services and groups that provide free diapers, day-care subsidies and other aid. The second contains photos of the fetus at various stages of development.

Patients don’t have to accept either pamphlet. Most wave them away, their minds made up.

For the few women who arrive ambivalent or beset by guilt, Harrison’s nurse has posted statistics on the exam-room mirror: One out of every four pregnant women in the U.S. chooses abortion. A third of all women in this country will have at least one abortion by the time they’re 45.

“You think there’s room in hell for all those women?” the nurse will ask.

So women who come in feeling ambivalent are basically told to push aside their doubts because if enough people have abortions, Hell won’t be able to contain them all. That’s the way to push up your numbers, and get more money.

As to the theologian-er-Nurse’s statement, I’d refer her to Isaiah 5:14: Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth beyond measure;. Don’t worry about Hell running out of room or God having to start “grading on the curve” in terms of who goes there. The good news for those women who’ve done this terrible thing is that there’s forgiveness. As the sign says, “Jesus forgives and heals.” See here for more info.

In addition to the previously quoted “Its a bummer that I keep having to kill my children because I forget my birth control and don’t have the decency to get my tubes tied” there were lots of other gems showing the utter shallowness of the women in the article. One girl identified as a teenager:

“There’s things wrong with abortion,” she says. “But I want to have a good life. And provide a good life for my child.” To keep this baby now, she says, when she’s single, broke and about to start college, “would be unfair.”

Yeah, first of all, unless the grace of God intervenes, the Abortion Doctor will see you back there in a couple years. I’ll take odds on it and you’ll kill the next child for the same reason you killed this one.

As for unfair, you don’t know what unfair is. Ask any number of infertile couples. They play by the rules, get married, and despite desperately wanting children, can’t have them. At the same time, women like you get pregnant two, three, four, five, six, seven or more times and kill their children. That’s unfair.

Well, what about adoption?:

A high school volleyball player says she doesn’t want to give up her body for nine months. “I realize just from the first three months how it changes everything,” she says.

Oh, it might hurt your volleyball career. Poor you! So you’re going to kill that child and take away all it is and all it could ever be.

Kim, a single mother of three, says she couldn’t bear to give away a child and have to wonder every day if he were loved. Ending the pregnancy seemed easier, she says — as long as she doesn’t let herself think about “what could have been.”

So, as long as you can dillude yourself and stop yourself from thinking about what you’re doing than its going to be okay. You’ll find out different if there’s any shred of humanity in you.

Amanda, however almost takes the cake:

Amanda hasn’t told her ex-boyfriend that she’s 15 weeks pregnant with his child. She hasn’t told her parents, either, though she lives with them.

“I figured it was my responsibility,” she says.

Yeah, never ask them if they might want to care for their grandchild/son. Amanda’s #1 in the universe. It gets worse.

She regrets having to pay $750 for the abortion, but Amanda says she does not doubt her decision. “It’s not like it’s illegal. It’s not like I’m doing anything wrong,” she says.

Sorry, it wasn’t cheaper. I’m sure you could have bought some nice things for yourself with that money. A pity the abortionist wouldn’t let you in without paying. You could have lied and said you were destitute and couldn’t pay. This abortionist feels so proud of his work that he does some on the House sometimes. Heck, what’s lying if it saves Amanda $750 to buy herself some nice jeans?

Amanda, someday when you grow up, you’ll learn not everything that’s legal is right. Segregation was legal. Slavery was legal. So was the Holocaust.

“I’ve been praying a lot and that’s been a real source of strength for me. I really believe God has a plan for us all. I have a choice, and that’s part of my plan.”

Please do not drag God into this. Taking the Lord’s name in vain is also a sin. Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). The god you serve, and I don’t care what church you claim to belong to, is “the thief” that comes to steal, kill, and destroy.

Now, I said Amanda almost takes the cake becuase I thought it’d be hard to find someone more callous and cold. That’s when I noticed this patient:

His first patient of the day, Sarah, 23, says it never occurred to her to use birth control, though she has been sexually active for six years. When she became pregnant this fall, Sarah, who works in real estate, was in the midst of planning her wedding. “I don’t think my dress would have fit with a baby in there,” she says.

I wonder if she sat down and said, “It costs $1000 for a new dress, but I can get the abortion for $750.” God forbid, she’d have to make an alteration. Please remember this next time someone tells you how serious the abortion decision is to all the women getting them.

Those of you reading this are thinking I’m angry and you’re darn right I’m angry. There’s something wrong with us if we’re not. If we think that human life being sold so cheap is a good thing, or is no big deal, I weep for us as well.

In the midst of this, there’s some good news. Dr. Harrison wants these women to be big time abortion activists “to keep it legal”:

A high school senior says the issue won’t weigh heavily when she evaluates candidates. “There’s other issues I see as more important,” she says, “like whether they’ll raise taxes.”

So, there have you it. We’ve got political wisemen for the GOP like Rep. Tom Davis telling us that we can never have Roe v. Wade overturned. (See this post for fear of the backlash and we learn that even some women who get abortions basically only care that they get theirs and the issue itself doesn’t matter. It’s simply wrong.

Oh, and the best part’s here:

Last February, Harrison injured his head in a fall. He underwent three surgeries and spent months in rehabilitation. His wife urged him to retire.

“There’s no one to take my place,” he told her.

And I thank God there is no replacement in the wings. While many doctors are pro-choice, that don’t want to be in this dirty line of business. Each year there are less abortionists, each year the number of abortions drop. It’ll end one of these days whether its legal or not.

Yet, like Jefferson I have to tremble when I consider that’s God is just and that his justice will not sleep forever. And oh how great is our sin!

Thank you for this post. It is relevant and, I believe, accurate. As a volunteer at a pregnancy care center, I can tell you that at the root of abortion are fear, immorality, and selfishness. I believe most women instinctively know that killing an unborn child is wrong, yet they choose to believe the propaganda generated by those who seek to profit from their unfortunate, albeit elected, circumstances. Their depravity is fueled by the likes of Planned Parenthood and the National Organization for Women, whose leaders see abortion as a woman’s right to do with her body as she sees fit. There’s only one problem with this thinking – scientific research has proven time and time again that a developing fetus is an entirely separate being from its mother. It is indeed sickening to consider the holocaust that is abortion in the United States- over 45 million lives terminated, and when we consider the horror of partial birth abortion, we might wonder if there is any hope for a society that not only allows this practice, but also glorifies it as “salvation.” Since it is impossible to legislate the hearts of people, the best we can do is to keep shining the light of truth until there is no way for evil to hide in the dark.

The abortion clinic will close eventually and the rate will drop. There needs to be more than abortion clinics closing, people’s hearts need to change. I think about that one woman who already has three kids. What type of mother is she? Its scary.

    Excellent post!

Much righteous anger is needed to cut through the fog of cheap rationalization. Abortion stinks on every level and the fact that people do nothing out of a twisted apathy is the most heart breaking and stomach churning fact of all to me.

The sad thing about Americans is that we tend to be apathetic about issues until they develop into unignorable crisises. I hope enough people are concerned enough to avoid that from happening with abortion.
