They Keep the Good Stuff Behind the Counter…
Posted by Adam Graham in : GeneralI’m in the midst of my annual struggle with a cold. My cold takes a pretty nasty course. It begins as a sore throat, goes up into my sinuses, and then drops into my lungs and turns into pneumonia that needs treated by antibiotics .
Usually, I buy the cheapest medicine I can to help fight it. A little bit of a cheap antihistamine, or a generic Dayquil. I had a bit of an epiphany. How about buying some strong medicine? Given where this is headed, it’d be worth avoiding the crummy feeling, the anti-biotics and the doctor’s visit.
My wife suggested asking the pharmacist and when I explained my symptoms, he suggested some medicine kept over the counter to avoid shoplifting Meth Addicts who want to turn the stuff into an illegal drug.
I got some of the stuff home and took it and wow, what a difference. It has really helped. Maybe, I can avoid my yearly bout with pneumonia.

I suffer from a host of allergies and live on antihistamine. Every week I must go in and sign for over the counter medication like I am some sort of drug dealer or addict.
I resent it.
