They Laughed Him to Scorn
Posted by Andrea Graham in : Andrea's Posts“But, Lord, I can’t do that. What if everybody laughs at me?”
“Join the club. They laughed at me, too.”
“Really?”
“Sure. Read Mathew 9, verses 23 through 26.”
“Uh… okay. ‘And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.’ Oh. I guess they did.”
“Yeah, they kinda crucified me, too, but if you want to get to Heaven, take up your cross and follow me.”
When people laugh at your calling, do like Jesus did. Put the scoffers aside and obey the Lord. Then show them the Glory of the Famous one.

Adam, that was great! Simple, straighforward, and it gets the point across very well.
It’s definitely something I need to remember when He calls me to stand up for Him and obey Him. After all, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.” (John 15:18)
Thanks for the reminder!

Lady Andrea! Oh, good, I’m glad you let me know. I’m also glad you like John 15:18 – it’s one of the *other* ones I need to remember, LOL
Here’s hoping you-all have a wonderful weekend, and a blessed Christmas season!
