Thy Kingdom Come

Posted by Adam Graham in : The Lord's Prayer

Our Father

Thy Kingdom Come

It is the greatest prayer of all,
Peace that lasts forever,
Justice throughout all our lands,
Uncorrupted by our human failings,
An end to hunger, an end to thirst,
The lion playing with the lamb.
That’s what it means to say
Thy Kingdom Come

Eye has not seen,
Nor ear heard,
Nor can we in our wildest
Imgaginations conjure
Up the beauty of the majesty
Of the Lord of Glory
Reigning from Mount Zion

Search out the land of the Lord
And find injustice,
Or a child crying for a father departed,
Search for bigotry and hatred,
War or strife,
And you’ll find none of it.
The devil himself
Will not be found on the Earth.

For the Lord shall bring what
A thousand governments,
A million philosophers
Have failed to bring,
We shall know glory,
And we shall know beauty,
With the fulfillment
Of a prayer said
Countless times
In thousands of languages
From every corner of the globe.

Its a prayer we say
Thought we can never
Fully understand
What we ask,
Yet the answer will change our
World forever.
Thy Kingdom Come.

You’re in Boise? Congratulations on the move. Interested to hear how you’re liking it so far… I graduated from the U of I and spent a good amount of time in Boise during those years with college friends. “…A thousand governments,
A million philosophers Have failed to bring,” — exactly. Aspiring, always, but also always falling short, as is our lot until redemption. Nice work!

I’m liking the winters in Boise a lot better than I liked the winters in Montana.

I like it well. The only thing is that its a bit of drive to nature, but maybe I need to focus on getting out a bit more.
