I’d say Alan at IdaBlue has done more to actually do something about winning the Iraq War than most people, having served a tour over there…

Well, I didn’t say, “I served in Iraq” but rather “I hope we win the Iraq War.” There’s a difference.

I agree with a number of these.
10 is something I’ve been espousing; Idaho is small enough that we really ought to be able to work together better, and I’d like to see more of this from both sides. Calling people names isn’t the way to get someone to agree with you. We need to find points of agreement and then work from there.
9 and 8 — not sure which attacks you mean.
7 — let’s define what ‘win’ is first.
6 — according to whom? by what standards?
5 — I do! I’m coming up on five years here, and I really like it. I was afraid it would be one of those “Oh, she’s new, she’s only been here twenty years” places, but it’s not like that at all. By and large, people are friendly and tolerant, independent, and live-and-let-live, which is why it’s so disheartening when people try to control other people’s private lives. I like living in a place where people stand up for the Pledge of Allegiance and pull to the side of the road when a fire truck goes by.
4. I agree with you.
3. I’ve never heard of it and Amazon doesn’t have any information about it.
2. Huh? Sure you do.
1. That’s absolutely true. Two different places, different people, different economies, different climate, different geographies, different land use planning needs. I’d like to think that San Francisco and Idaho have a lot to learn from each other.

Incidentally, here’s my take on it:
Top Ten Things You Won’t Read on a Right Wing Idaho Blog
10. Our opponents are decent people who have another viewpoint.
9. That attack on Bill Clinton was below the belt.
8. That attack on John Kerry was below the belt.
7. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.
6. We need to make sure that people have access to the resources they need when they are sick or old.
5. I’m against abortion, so I’m in favor of improved education and access to birth control, to help reduce it.
4. Politics needs to be more civil.
3. I’m against promiscuity, so I’m in favor of consenting adults being able to enter into committed, state-sanctioned relationships that allow them to share their emotional and financial lives and take care of each other in sickness and in health.
2. I’m against premarital sex, so I’m teaching my sons and the other young men I know to show their respect for young women by not pressuring them to have sex outside a committed relationship — and taking responsibility for them when we do.
1. Maybe what works in San Francisco could work in Idaho. Let’s look at it and see.

I don’t think any attack on Bill Sali or Bryan Fischer would be seen as below the belt. I think establishing a tenuous link between Bill Sali and Jack Abramoff was a regrettable stunt by Julie Fanselow, for example.
#3 is a joke because that’s the title of my book.
And I think you’d be far more likely to hear “Happy Holidays” than Merry Christmas on a liberal blog.
I also think if you believe in the need for more civility, its got to start with BinkyBoy and Tom Paine. Those guys are way over the top nuts.

Also, my wife wrote the post on women moving in with men and its specifically addressed to Christian women who share her worldview.
