Voluntary Liberal Extinction Movement

Hey, you guys on the left, I found a great link for for you all, courtesy of Obligatory Anecdotes, its a bunch of progressives coming together around a cause.

Its the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement “a movement advanced by people who care about life on planet Earth.” You leftists have got to sign up for that.

Here’s their plan for saving the Earth:

Rather, The Movement presents an encouraging alternative to the callous exploitation and wholesale destruction of the Earth’s ecology.

As VHEMT Volunteers know, the hopeful alternative to the extinction of millions of species of plants and animals is the voluntary extinction of one species: Homo sapiens… us.

Each time another one of us decides to not add another one of us to the burgeoning billions already squatting on this ravaged planet, another ray of hope shines through the gloom.

I mean they believe the whole population bomb thing, and they’re doing something about it. Not like that hypocrite Al Gore who warns us of overpopulation and then has 3 kids. Hello! You and Tipper were 2 people and produced 3 people to replace you. That’s making the problem worse. You can be morally consistent, which will really help you in looking down on any Iraq War supporter whose not serving in Iraq.

In fact, the site gives nobility to choosing childlessness. Rather than being too self-absorbed, you’d be doing your part to save the planet. Plus, you’d never be plagued with having to see the effects of liberal school policies on your own children or start thinking about the affect the rot in our culture’s having on your children. That type of introspection (as well as having kids in general) has been proven to move a lot of people to the right.

Of course, the danger of this idea is that like smoking regulations or gun control, you may try and force this through law and that’s where I draw the line. Try and sell extinction to the moderates. But, hey, at least you’ll have done your part.

So, hey you’ve found your movement, I just hope I’ll be around long enough to see the voluntary exinction of liberals, talk about inheriting the Earth! By the way, be sure to buy some of their bumperstickers and t-shirts. Apparently they take the philosophy that if you’re going to go extinct, you should make some money before you do.
