We’ll do 4 tonight and 4 tomorrow and then we’ll wrap it up.
Lets start with Best Technology Blog:
Honorable Mentions:
If I had to list every site that caught my interest, I’d be here all night. Here are the best:
Engadget has some cool gadgets on it. Right now, its covering the insane Xbox 360 craze. Here’s a hint guys, buy them on Ebay in 3 or 4 years for $50.
Search Blog where has this been all my blogging life? I’ve got to check this out. A lot of great tools and information on search engines and th elinek.
The Winner:
Gizmodo has got a lot of interesting new gadgets. If I get tired of blogging, I could just go over there and drool over all the cool stuff they feature. Great blog.
Moving On to Sports Blogs:
Honorable Mentions:
Independent Thinking covers Independent Baseball leagues. What a cool topic and what a nice blog about it. Independent Minor League baseball is entertaining thousands across the country.
Phog Blog is nice site for Kansas College Basketball. The guy’s also found an inventive way to promote his standing in the Weblog Awards. He put it into his template so people could be directed to vote with every message. Nice idea.
Deadspin is a no nonsense sports blog with great blog design.
Athletics Nation: Another well-designed blog made in Oakland Green and Yellow.
Baseball Crank: Nicely designed website that mixes in some political and legal commentary and its all good.
The winner is:
Redleg Nation: This fan blog for the Cincinatti Reds got my vote for a number of reasons. The first is that it knows its topic: The Reds and nothing but the Reds. In fact during the Blogs one year history they’ve only had 3 off-topic post. They know their topic and through the ups and downs, they love their Reds and deserve this award.
Political Staples is a good solid blog coming from a Conservative perspective.
The Crazy Rants of Samantha Burns is a nice, well designed blog, best known as founder of the Open Trackbacks alliance.
Winner:
The Angry White North is the winner. This blog covers politics and cultural issues with a passion lacking in other Canadian blogs. Isightful and incisive, just what Canada needs and my choice for the award.
Ales Rarus: A top drawer Catholic blog, that’s added bloggers to keep up its level of posting. Ales Rarus is creative, thoughtful, and even has a self-written Christmas Carol up.
Leadership Blogs has a lot of good insights and news for pastors. (Although I wish the post frequency was more.) Interesting story they have about Disney offering a price for pastors with the Best Narnia sermon. Look, see the movie in spite of the sleezy promoters.
Jay Adkins generally posts something every day.
The Winner:
The Thinklings has got a lot of cool stuff including a resolution passed in Idaho honoring Napoleon Dynamite. I like their post frequency. Andrea likes the fact you can change the skins. You get a lot of depth of information from this site, so my vote goes for The Thinklings.
