We’re going to make this our final Awards post, beginning with:

Best Military Blog:

Honorable Mentions:

Euphoric Reality: A lot of interesting posts on a smorgasboard topics.

Sgt. Hook provides support to our military both living and dead in the war on terror.

Andi’s World is a great blog that provides a solid mix of personal info, politics, and military. Cool site, overall.

Major K provides news from Iraq and lots of pictures.

Winner:

365 and a Wake-up: This is the blog I nominated for the Military blog awards. The site doesn’t update frequently as I’d like but his strength of writing is awesome. He really knows how to bring home powerful emotional images. He’s a great writer and a great soldier and my choice for Military blog of the year.

Best Humor Blog:

Honorable Mention:
Dilbert Blog: I hadn’t known of this blog before and it really impressed me for a few reasons. Scott Adams doesn’t HAVE to blog. His cartoons would be beloved by millions, instead he chooses to engage his audience in a funny, interesting blog. Way to go Scott!

Winner:

Scrapple Face: Its loyalty. I love Scrappleface. I check it a few times every month and they never fail to give me a good laugh with their so true to life satire.

Best New Blog:

Honorable Mentions:

Decision 2008: Good site with lots of news on ‘08 candidates and not candidates. Been so successful in less than a year, he’s landed a spot at Pajamas Media.

Performancing: Great blog on blogging with tips from bloggers who’ve made it big and out fronting money for a big, bad new blogging blog. Along with Problogger, they’re one of the big influences in the direction of this blog.

Wuzza Dem is a fantastic blog. I love his comedy, its like nothing else I’ve seen. Good job, Wuzza and close to being my choice for the Wehblog Award, but no cigar.

Winner:

Basil’s Blog: Basil wins because he’s worked to build a blogging communikty. He’s one of the best out there with 3 open trackback posts per day as well as the Blogger Interview series. Basil has become a class A blog by doing for others and will continue to prosper.

Best Conservative Blog:

This category was kind of disappointing. With the exception of Lashawn Barber, most of the top tier blogs aren’t in this competition, instead being in the “Best Blog Category” which makes the category somewhat disappointing. Most of the blogs are well-known, so I won’t waste too much space on them:

Honorable Mention:
Lashawn Barber a Christian Independent blogger who posts a lot of good stories on her blog, as well as blogging tips to help the rest of us out. Lawshawn also merits praise because despite her status, she takes both Trackbacks AND comments.

Winner:

The Anchoress There’s something incredibly elegant about the site’s design. I appreciate her passion for her faith and what she brings to blogging.

Best Blog Award

All of these blogs have a ton of traffic, so they don’t need anymore, so I’ll skip honorable mentions. Michelle Malkin will get my vote. She earns her victory by putting up with the massive avalanche of hate from the American left, while providing very quotable, and generally reliable information. Michelle Malkin is my weblog of the year award choice.
