What Political Correctness Has Wrought

Posted by Adam Graham in : Politics

We’ve got this sillyness from a flak for Senator Patty Murray in a showdown with WorldNetDaily:

“She was speaking to a crowd, and she said what she said. This is the holiday season, we’re just thrilled that the tree is from Washington state. It’s just a time to bring everybody together to celebrate the season,” Alex Glass, Murray’s communications director, told WND.

When asked if there were any objection to calling the tree a “Christmas tree,” she said the senator doesn’t have a policy.

“I think, you know, whatever people want to call it, we are accepting of all of it,” Glass said. “It’s a time to remember what the season is about.”

And that is? Celebrating, of course.

And what are we celebrating?

“The season,” Glass said.

And what is the season?

“I’m not going to get into semantics with you guys,” she said.

It’s the Season. Not any particular season. The one, the only, the Season. This is just nonsense. Come on, PC should stand for Pure Crud. This is just stupid.

Oh, I could riff on this one all morning.

And I would, too, if my blog was up.

“A Time to remember what the season is all about.”

Hmm…that would be…Coca Cola and gingerbread men, right? Candy canes? Reindeer?

You know, this is one of those days I’m really, really glad Jesus is Jesus and I’m not. Because I think I’d have had to seriously consider the whole “rain of fire” thing in response to that kind of stupidity.

I will absolutely be riffing on this post as soon as my blog gets up. Excellent catch, Adam.
